As an avid hunter, much of my time has been time spent scouting for whitetail, bowhunting, and searching for antler sheds. My journey to creating handcrafted rings stemmed from a desire to involve naturally harvested materials, while paying respect to the opportunities nature itself provides us. Wood and antler materials are sourced through myself, friends and family, and local businesses. Antler used is found having already been shed naturally, unless provided by client for a custom ring.

FAQs

  • Absolutely! My favorite rings have included wood from a family heirloom gunstock, fishing line from a deceased grandfather’s fishing reel, parachute canvas from a skydiver’s rig, antler from a father’s whitetail harvest, and whiskey barrel wood from a distillery where the client had proposed to his wife. Have an idea? Contact me HERE with your concept and materials involved! (Include link for contact me page).

  • Currently, I provide options of tungsten, titanium, or acid-etched stainless steel. Tungsten makes for heavier weight, is the strongest, and resists chips and wear the best. Titanium is extremely light compared to tungsten, and comes with a ‘satin’ or ‘brushed’ style finish. Acid-etched stainless steel is used for its various unique metal pattern.

  • I take pride in building each ring to order. As a result, estimated completion dates are constantly updated on my website’s banner for the latest orders, plus shipping times. Backcountry Turning Co. jewelry is handcrafted by myself. Other sites may offer to ship a ring in 24hrs, CONVENIENTLY having your size using wood, antler or blue fishing line, but may be sourced from a well-known auction site using Chinese sellers or from other foreign suppliers, and may use fake materials or cheap veneer patterns! If it looks too perfect to be natural, it probably isn’t natural. These rings can also use cheap UV resin, which is prone to chip and yellow in sunlight. Not to mention, these cost your seller dollars and are then resold to you for hundreds.

  • I HEAVILY recommend asking for a ring sizing from a local jeweler, as rings with wood and antler cannot be resized. It’s important to get sized in correct width, with men’s rings averaging 8mm width, and women’s 4-6mm.

  • Due to the nature of sealed antler, wood, or other offered materials in your ring, it CANNOT be resized. I require your accurate ring size at time of order.

  • I recommend washing gently with hand soap and warm water. Avoid use in environments that could damage through impact, as well as frequent exposure to chemicals/cleaners. If your ring does become damaged by these factors and you would like to have it repaired, please reach out to me HERE for details and pricing. A warranty to protect your ring is also available, but only able to be purchased at time of order.

  • You may purchase an extended warranty to protect your ring in case of damage, available only at time of original order. See warranty info below FAQs for more details.
